THE CONSCIOUS MIND

"The nature of the conscious mind is not grasped fully by those who have been given this faculty. It is a gift of great importance in terms of the learning process in which Man is engaged. We have said that the consciousness tends to narrow the focus of attention to a present instant in time and that this tendency brings about the erroneous conclusion that the past, the present, and the future are somehow distinct and separate from each other. But it could not be otherwise for the process of assimilation and experience in which Mankind is engaged."

"If Man were to grasp fully the nature of time, He would think that free will was impossible and that nothing could be done to alter destiny. This too would be an error. The error would arise because of the limitations of three-dimensional experience. It is therefore necessary, due to the three-dimensional matrix in which man's vehicle of experience -- the body -- is located, to give Him an instrument of perception which allows Him to retain the correct belief that free will is a definite possibility for Him."
