"The process of birthing another soul is one of the most beautiful and meaningful experiences that a human in incarnation can possibly have. It was never intended to be accompanied by the least amount of pain or discomfort. The pain and difficulty which many experience arises through several causes. The first is, of course, the expectation that there will be pain in giving birth. This sets up a subconscious blockage against accepting the birth experience, and when the labor contractions begin, the subconscious attitude tries to resist the opening of the cervix by literally holding it shut. This produces a conflict between the natural process of opening the cervix to allow the new soul to enter the world and the subconscious desire to delay or arrest the process."
"The second cause of discomfort in childbirth relates to the faulty diet which most women in the western countries follow. This diet reduces the capacity of the tissues to stretch and dilate, as the cervix must do in order to allow the fetus into the birth canal."
"The final important cause of labor and birthing pain is the matter-of-fact approach which society generally has to the whole idea of having a baby. It is not seen in the light in which it should be viewed, namely as one of the most wonderful and holy of all possible human experiences, for it is, literally, the act of creating a new temple for a Soul to inhabit. While it is true that The Soul Who is about to come into the world also contributes importantly to the creation of the fetus, nonetheless, the mother must also give much of herself in the process and undergo considerable restrictions as well as provide the nourishment for the new life inside her. If Mankind could view the birthing process in the proper spirit of reverence and wonder, then the mother-to-be would not find her own excitement in conflict with the average attitude, and this at-one-ment would ease the process still further."
"Although childbirth was not intended to be painful in any way, The Guides of Humanity do utilize the pain that is felt to allow karma to be set aside. What better way to atone for having taken a life in a past experience than to be the literal channel through which that soul is given life again? Moreover, the pain that is felt can be used to discharge karma that arose at the time of taking another's life. The Entities Who guide Humanity's progress realized that in childbirth lay the ideal way to allow souls to offset karma from having ended the life of another without requiring the perpetrator to lose his own life."
