NUMEROLOGY

This piece is an explanation of the true meaning of the numerals from 0 to 9, meanings which are not all known to those who study Numerology. The Great Teacher, Hilarion, gives us both the positive and negative sides to the particular numbers that have relevance in our lives and which are manipulated by our Guides to follow us around in order to convey symbolic messages that require our attention as seen from the perspective of our Guides. The predominant numbers attached to our lives are one method for communicating with us by our loving and vigilant Guides.

"Numerology is a system of encoded information regarding the basic traits and karmic patterns of souls during physical incarnation. The numbers do not, at the level of The Earth Plane, have any mystic vibration or emanation which lends to them the qualities and characteristics ascribed by most Numerologists. Instead, the basic numbers from 0 to 9 have been assigned specific meanings and designations which apply to individual souls, and the events on The Earth are manipulated and arranged in such a way as to cause appropriate numbers to show up in association with particular individuals more often than other numbers. In a sense, the numbers are made to follow people around in a preferential way, and, from an examination of the numbers most frequently occurring in the addresses, telephone numbers, and so forth of particular persons, the numerological pattern being applied to them can be deduced."

"The civilization in which Man lives is filled with numbers. There are numbers which society attaches to each person, his driving license, his address, his telephone number, and so on. What most people do not realize is that The Guardians and Guides of each soul (personality) deliberately attempt to cause certain specific numbers to follow that person around, i.e. to show up in his telephone number, etc. The purpose of this manipulation is to remind the individual, at the subconscious level, about certain characteristics or traits that he may have and which he should be attempting to balance or overcome."

"Any individual can derive a good idea of the number or numbers which apply to him by assessing the various cards, licenses, etc. which he has. The marked preponderance of a particular digit will strongly suggest that it is one of those that are being applied to him at this particular time of his life. Many individuals are chased around by 2 or even 3 digits at a time. The seeker will be able to come to a conclusion by meditating upon the matter after assessing the relative preponderance of the digits from 0 to 9."

"Occasionally it happens that a date which is highly desirable from an astrological point of view, such as the birth date for a given soul, is not significant for that soul under the applicable rules of Numerology. It can even happen that the indications derived from the birth-chart run counter to those which are deduced from a numerological analysis of the birth date. When this situation arises, it is the astrological chart which is given precedence, and the numerology of the birth date is ignored. For this reason, it is unwise to attach too great a significance to the numbers in the birth date of any individual before a careful analysis of the birth-chart itself is made. Only where these 2 approaches give similar indications can the numerological pattern of the date be relied upon."

"It may be of interest that the process which saw The Original One become a virtual infinitude of different sub-units is perfectly represented in mankind's system of numbers. On the scale from 1 to 9, i.e. the basic numerological building blocks, 1 represents God Undivided or Unmanifest, while 9 represents God in Manifestation, i.e. diversity. Mathematically inclined philosophers will understand what We mean when We say that the first stage of division, in which 1 became 2, encompassed within itself all the other divisions and all the other numbers. The Big Step was to make the 1 into 2. From then on, that first stage of division was simply repeated."

"Like The Zodiac Signs, each number has its positive side and its negative side. We will give both of these, but We stress the importance of paying attention to the negative part and attempting to discern in oneself the traits that are suggested by the dark side of the numbers which follow one around. The purpose of earth life is to improve and balance out all negative tendencies, and this cannot be achieved if one merely settles into self-congratulations over the positive gains he has already made. With negligible exceptions, every soul incarnated on The Earth can be much improved."

The Zero:

"The 0 is a relative newcomer to the world of mathematical reckoning. The principal digits from 1 to 9 are the main significators for Humanity in its present phase. However, when it does appear that a person is being chased around by zeros with a non-statistical frequency, then the meaning is to be sought in the notion that zero means the absence of something. Look for the idea that something is missing in the life-pattern or in the emotional or mental nature. A careful scrutiny will, in every case, explain fully why The Guides have selected the 0 to pass symbolic information to the individual. The individual may have little capacity for affection or may lack some other main characteristic that Mankind normally has. Alternatively, the zero may point to a life-pattern in which some common human experience is missing. It may be the lack of a love life or the absence of children or the fact that job satisfaction seems never to be attained. There is no important positive significance to the 0."

The One:

"The number 1 refers to the concept of The Creator in Unmanifested Form. This may be thought of as God prior to The Creative Acts Which gave rise to Manifestation. The 1 and the 9 are both numbers of God. The 1 represents The Creative Essence as a Unity before the division into Manifestation, while the 9, being the largest number in the series, designates the entirety of the manifested worlds, i.e. God as The All In All after the division into Manifestation. In The Christian Scriptures, The Creator calls Himself Alpha and Omega, The First and The Last. Perhaps the foregoing numerological discussion will allow a fuller grasp of the meaning of this statement."

"The numeral 1 designates, on the negative side, the person who is excessively self-oriented. The ego is generally strong, even overbearing, and life is viewed as a stage on which oneself is the principle actor. All else seems to revolve about the self. On the positive side are the characteristics of a strong self-image, pride in one's accomplishments, and the ability to lead and mold others in positive directions."

The Two:

"In Numerology, the number 2 is related to the same area as is designated by The Moon and The Sign Cancer in Astrology, namely the concepts of nurturing, caring for others, protecting, shielding, incubating, and so forth. Indeed, The Moon in Astrology is the direct symbol of the female womb. The number 2 corresponds to the idea of intuitive knowledge, to an understanding more at the feeling level than at the rational."

"The numeral 2 is, in many ways, the converse of 1. The 2 represents the receptive, recessive, background type of person, he who shies away from thrusting himself into the limelight. In the negative, 2 describes the individual who lacks trust and faith in the processes of his life and who worries excessively. Too great a sensitivity is also shown."

"The positive side of 2 has to do with the nurturing and caring instincts. There is a natural feeling for the rightness of having a sheltering home environment. The positive 2 is also generally intelligent, inventive, and humorous."

The Three:

"Numerologically, the number 3 is connected with the jupiterian concepts of expansion, growth, abundance, and faith. Jupiter is the closest astrological symbol to the meaning of 3 in Numerology. The number 3, at a higher symbolic level, designates The Triangle of God-Facets Which run like Golden Threads throughout all of Creation, Those of Power (The First Ray), Love (The Second Ray), and Mind (The Third Ray). Three is also the number, par excellence, which represents a higher view of reality, i.e. a more spiritual view."

"It is well understood in Occultism that the triangle represents the deep underlying spiritual truths that are available to Man if He were but to open his eyes to them. The triangle denotes the 3-fold nature of Man Himself -- mental, emotional, and physical -- and can be shown to correspond to a like division in all creatures that are made in the image of The Creator, since, in The Great God of All That Is, there is also found a 3-Fold Manifestation. This is designated, in The Christian Theology, as God The Father (corresponding to Will and Creativity), God The Son (Which is The Divine Love or Christ Spirit), and God The Holy Ghost (The Mental Facet of God)."

"For humans, the numeral 3 shows, in its negative manifestation, The Falstaff Syndrome: excessive indulgence in food, drink, and other pleasures of the physical body. On the positive side, 3 has good religious or spiritual instincts, has a broad and expansive mind, and possesses a drive to achieve success in terms of higher education."

The Four:

"The number 4 has always symbolized The Earth Plane with its limitations, its shortages, its incitement to rivalry, aggression, and warfare. Those who are attuned to the number 4 are continuously at odds with the environment and people around them. They find that others 'rub them the wrong way', and the impression tends to be mutual. It is not by accident that the square or rectangle is the most favored geometric form for the dividing up of property, farmland, and the like, for the concept of possession of land is directly aligned with the rivalry and separative aspects of the number 4."

"The number 4 in Numerology corresponds best to The Planet Uranus in Astrology. Both of these are concerned with individuality, with doing your own thing, with independence and freedom. The number 4 is also the perfect number to represent The Earth Plane, and much of man's experience, in terms of physical reality on This Planet, involves the number 4. Expressions such as 'the 4 corners of The Earth', 'the 4 winds', and so on are merely reflections of the essential correspondence We have mentioned. Moreover, men separate and define themselves, with respect to others, by property ownership, and, of course, most properties are in rectangular shape with 4 sides."

"The numeral 4 (negatively) represents the separative, rivalrous, and conflict-ridden aspects of earthly existence. Those who are followed around by the 4 are aften abrasive or seem so to others. They rub people the wrong way and vice versa. The 4 is a karmic number in the sense that the life-patterns of those under its influence tend to show more in terms of loss, sorrow, and difficulty than the average. The most important lesson for the 4-individual is to learn to love and accept his fellow man, to stop feelings of victimization and paranoia, and to release his anger. In the depths of such a person there is always a deep, roiling well of irritation, annoyance, and anger, and the most important task for him is to empty that well and then to fill it with love. On the positive side of the 4, one finds a quick and strong mind and the ability to understand, in a flash, concepts that others must work to grasp."

The Five:

"Numerologically, the number 5 designates the mental or intellectual faculty in Man and thus corresponds best to The Planet Mercury in Astrology. The mere fact of having 5 energy centers on the hand (as fingers) has prompted a flowering of the rational and intellectual processes to an incredible degree. Indeed, the speed with which Humanity has taken up the new mental pursuits has surprised even Those Who guide the destinies of Planetary Races."

"At a higher symbolic level, the number 5 is also related to the idea of balance, moderation, and stability. But this is not strange when it is considered that the developement of mental strength is the only sure way to control and balance the emotional nature and to guard against its excesses."

"In the numerological pattern of 1 to 9 which Man has been given, the number 5 occurs precisely mid-way between the 2 extreme numbers. It is fascinating to contemplate the depths of meaning which underlie this relationship, particularly when it is realized that the 1 and 9 are both numbers of God. Man, whose true number is 5, occupies the middle position."

"The number 5 has immense significance for The Human Race, not only in designating The Great Pentacle of pivotal experiences upon This Planet but also in identifying numerous special structures and symbols which have played significant roles in man's history. One example is that of The Great Pyramid of Gizeh, Which is a structure far more holy than any Temple ever to have been erected on The Earth. It embodies, within Itself, an absolutely accurate prognostication of the entire time period from the era of Moses through to the end of the thousand years of glory to follow The Tribulation. The pyramid shape is, of course, the architectural representation of the number 5, for it is a form with 5 corners."

"The Great Pentacle is composed of The Temptation, The Flood, The Destruction (of the great animals), The Tribulation, and The Transformation. This list is given in correct sequence of time. The first 3 events are in the past. The Tribulation is nearly under way. And The Transformation will occur after the 1,000-year period of glory to follow the present time of chaos."

"The number 5 is that of perfect balance in terms of the higher numerological symbolism. When it attaches to individuals, it is like a badge of spiritual success. It points to those who have accomplished much during past lives in terms of lesson-learning and the setting aside of negative karma. Positively, the 5 denotes a good mental grasp of the principles of existence. The mind is strong and flexible. Negatively, the numeral 5 points to a possible tendency to overplay the intellectual or mental side of earth experience. Because 5 is such a high number in the general numerological patterns, its negative connotation is rather minimal."

The Six:

"We have said that 5 is man's true number, but at present the number 6 is a better one in terms of his basic vibration. In The Revelations, it is stated that the number of the beast, 666, is also the number of Man. By this is meant, inter alia, that the strong physical drives arising in man's physical body and over which He has not yet learned to exert full mental control derive from the similarities between Man and The Animal Kingdom at the physical level. Chief among the problems which man's body presents is the great strength of the sexual drive as it now manifests due to the ability of The Root Chakra (The Muladhara) to take up extra energy from The Earth."

"The number 6 in its best manifestation is that of emotional love between a man and a woman. In this sense, its best planetary equivalent in Astrology is Venus, The Goddess of Love. However, far too many people today allow the emotional love to be unduly guided and influenced by sexual infatuation, i.e. by how the body alone feels with respect to the partner, and it is for this reason that the present essence of the number 6 is that of sex. The similarity in the sounds of these 2 is no accident."

"On the positive side of 6 is the ability to love unconditionally. This characteristic does not always manifest, but the meaning is that once, in a prior life, such unconditional love and affection was achieved, with the result that it could be attained again now with effort. Always, in the life-pattern of the 6-individual, there will be at least one test to see whether he can love unconditionally again. It is a great opportunity to recapture what was probably the zenith of his spiritual achievements in past lives."

"The numeral 6 denotes, on its negative side, an excessive preoccupation with sexual matters and sensuality for its own sake. There is also a certain xenophobia that can manifest due to a feeling that one is superior to other groups or Races."

The Seven:

"The numeral 7 is the main indicator of the worlds beyond. Man refers to 'Seventh Heaven' not by accident. Those who are characterized by the 7 are individuals whose main attention is not on the petty, practical details of everyday life. On the negative side, this can result in escapism, the excessive use of alcohol or drugs, and/or Depression. Such attempts to obliterate reality stem usually from a conviction that one's life-pattern is excessively harsh, that one is being picked on by fate, etc."

"On the positive side, the other-worldly interests of the 7-individual may lead him to Occultism or a Spiritual Quest or possibly into studies of phenomena like flying saucers and the like. There is a great potential in all 7-related individuals for becoming seekers after The True Wisdom of The Spirit. Always, in such cases, there is a strong pattern of The Mysteries in past lives which now is surfacing in the present incarnation. By this We mean that the individual would have been associated with The Mystery Religions Which have flourished in many cultures from time to time and could, at some point, have been an Initiate or Adept."

The Eight:

"The 8 is, in every respect, the opposite of the 7. As it applies to practical life, the 8 (on its negative side) is the number of karma, restriction, limitation, loss, and even death. Those under its influence have much karma which must be set aside in their present life-pattern, and, in order to do so, sorrow, pain, and difficulty will have to be experienced. The 8-individual is typically one who has been too preoccupied with material or worldly success in past lives and who likely retains these traits in the present."

"Not enough attention was paid then to the life of The Spirit or the affectional side of life, and, unless a great rebirth has taken place, it is likely that the same lopsidedness continues into the present life. Such persons must, if they are to be successful in The Trial Which is now descending upon the world, give up their obsessions with material things. Otherwise The Tribulation will utterly destroy them. Only by turning one's attention to The Higher Realities and to Spiritual Truth can the chaos and disorientation of The Coming Period be borne. Those whose eyes are fixed upon The Life of The Spirit will be totally unaffected by the disintegration of the evil world system which Man has erected for Himself, even while those still blinded by their materialistic obsessions will be reeling from the shocks which descend daily upon them."

"On the positive side of the 8 is the ability to make or build something of value in practical terms. Unfortunately, too few of the 8-individuals have learned to carry out this kind of activity in a spirit of detachment. In the present era on The Earth, practically all who are branded with the number 8 are lacking in the ability to achieve concrete, constructive aims without being seduced by the wealth, power, or fame which such success offers."

The Nine:

"Finally, the numeral 9 is that which designates, on the negative side, the main difficulty which The Libran manifests: too much self-control in terms of demonstrating affection. Human beings literally cry out for love and particularly the love that is symbolized by a friendly hug, a kiss on the cheek, an embrace. Without this physical reassurance of love, the spirit withers and dies. Life without demonstrated affection is a bleak affair."

"The 9-individual also is one who is struggling to hold the lid on a volcano of anger and irritation. Often the life-pattern consists of stretches of smooth self-control broken regularly by fits of rage and anger. The task of the 9 is to loosen up the self-control to a large extent and to seek ways to demonstrate affection to others. By doing so, the well of anger and frustration within him will empty out by itself."

"On the positive side of the 9 is a strong feeling for the rightness of the pair-bond, again a major Libran trait. There is here the ability to put a great deal of energy into attaining harmony in the male-female relationship."

"Having completed our discussion of the individual numerals, it remains but to caution the reader that the birth date may not necessarily contain the numbers which apply at any given period of the life. It is true that Birth Date Numerology is a valid study, but the indicators involved are of a different category than that which We have been discussing."

"May the peace and blessing of all The Higher Beings
Who care for humanity's struggle be with you forevermore."
